African Blackwood is a true rosewood (dalbergia genus), and is considered some of the best knife, and turning wood in existence. Beautiful, dark black to brown wood, with very tight grain. Handles heat MUCH better than ebony without cracking. EXTREMELY dense! Rare wood that is getting more and more expensive.
African Blackwood, like most/all true rosewoods, is a very stable and oily wood that does not require stabilization.
