Collection: Macassar Ebony Scales

Macassar Ebony (Diospyros Celebica) is a true ebony species from Southeast Asia known for its dramatic striped appearance.  Reddish-brown to black heartwood is demarcated by beautiful, pale-golden sapwood stripes.

Like most ebony species, Macassar Ebony is a very strong and stable wood (once properly dried) that does not require stabilizing.  Care must be taken not to overheat the wood when grinding though.
