Beautiful, pre-preg carbon fiber sourced from Space X!
This is a double biaxial carbon fiber which means the layers are laid out in opposing 45 degree angles. On top of that, the layers are woven together. This makes for an incredibly strong carbon fiber with unmatched shear strength!
Because this is first and foremost a structural material designed with strength in mind, it can be difficult to finish. The woven layers make it particularly tricky. Use sharp belts/sandpaper and a light touch (silicon carbide belts or diamond paper works especially well).
