Diospyros crassiflora - or West African Ebony…. Also known as Gabon or gaboon ebony is a beautiful, true ebony. It’s widely loved for its dark black appearance, although it can sometimes have grey or brown streaking.
This particular block exhibits some wonderful curly figure and a small amount of sapwood.
VERY hard to dry properly (takes years), with lots of loss to checking. This block has been stored for over a decade and is ready to go!
